Overview
"In Parole Povere" from
Joe Barbieri is an album made
with very few tools.
It's a project built with only
shadows, with shapes that - as
frames - they leave on the wall once
they're removed...
"In Parole Povere" isn't affected by
the gravity law, it's - citing
Martin Winckler - "to fill the holes
of the escaping reality with pieces
of string, to make nodes in
transparent sails knowing that
elsewhere they will be torn". And to
have recorded it without practically
the use of reverbers is a proof of
proudness; to have played it without
electronics instruments wants to be
a love sign for music; to "have
offered a shelter" to his friend
Mario Venuti with a duet on the
song 'pura ambra' is an elective
affinities' symbol.
"In Parole Povere" has been
distributed along years across 12
countries and has been chosen as
"album of the year" in
Germany by the magazine Cd-Kritik.
